CeraPhi Energy enter into an exclusive services agreement with Halliburton to advance its global Geothermal Energy Aspirations

NEWS CeraPhi Energy enter into an exclusive services agreement with Halliburton to advance its global Geothermal Energy Aspirations   30 August 2022 CeraPhi Energy has entered an exclusive drilling and intervention services agreement with Halliburton in exchange for in-kind engineering and project management support to CeraPhi. CeraPhi Energy has turned to Halliburton for its global expertise in well engineering and its seven decades of geothermal experience as part of CeraPhi’s plan to develop a global geothermal energy development company. The initial focus of the agreement will be to support CeraPhi’s existing opportunities of repurposing end-of-life oil and gas wells in the UK and USA. The companies expect the first project within the UK to commence before the end of the year. The CeraPhi team is focused on its front-end resource modelling. Halliburton will support the well engineering and development potential for CeraPhi’s patented technology CeraPhiWell™, a closed loop downhole heat exchanger that draws up subsurface heat for different applications for scalable baseload energy including: Low Temperature Climatised Agriculture Medium Temperature Heat Networks Medium Temperature Heating Systems and Industrial Processes Desalination and Water Treatment Power Generation Green Hydrogen through Electrolysis  CeraPhiWell™ is at the heart of CeraPhi’s strategy to de-risk geothermal energy scale-up using end-of-life and non-producing oil and gas wells and prove the “huge commercial potential” for geothermal energy production. CeraPhi supports efforts to enable access to over 500GW of additional geothermal energy by 2050 in line with Paris 2050 Climate Accord for carbon reduction.  CeraPhi CEO Karl Farrow said: “This is a very exciting stage of CeraPhi’s commercialisation and totally in line with our strategic plan to align ourselves with serious execution and delivery partners who believe in the tremendous opportunity for geothermal and have the ability to scale globally,” said Karl Farrow CEO CeraPhi. “Scaling this opportunity is key to reducing cost and making geothermal energy the baseload energy of choice everywhere for everyone. The oil and gas service sector is key to this transition and Halliburton has been in business for more than 100 years. They have been at the forefront of innovation and technology for well delivery, which is perfect for this collaboration. This collaboration is a natural fit and could be game-changing for geothermal’ s role in the energy transition and have a revolutionary impact on onshore oil and gas sector’s late life and ‘orphaned’ wells.”   “We are pleased to build on our decades of global geothermal business to collaborate with CeraPhi to deliver and maximise the value of their geothermal wells,” said Steve Nowe, Senior Area Manager Halliburton Europe. “This agreement will allow us to deliver fully integrated solutions to reduce planning time, lower costs and optimise the value chain performance.”  Geothermal is a form of renewable energy taken from heat derived from the earth’s subsurface and CeraPhi Energy’s Closed Loop Solution makes Geothermal available everywhere and anywhere. Geothermal is one of the cleanest forms of energy and can be applied as a direct power source as well as for heating and cooling utilities. UK’s Advanced Geothermal Business Announces Funding Round

NEWS UK’s Advanced Geothermal Business Announces Funding Round 16 August 2022 The UK’s first end to end Advanced Closed Loop Geothermal business – CeraPhi Energy located in Great Yarmouth – has this month announced it has launched a funding round as the business prepares for exponential growth. The funding round for the Geothermal Energy business has seen the company launch on JUSTLY as it looks to raise capital of $15million through its US platform with plans to expand its operations overseas. Speaking about it, Founder and CEO, Karl Farrow said: ‘JUSTLY is one of the world’s largest equity marketplaces for clean tech businesses looking to raise funds for ground breaking innovation and technology. ‘An equity raise, using this platform, builds on the foundations we’ve already established, enables us to support the rapid growth we’re experiencing and means we can meet the huge demand for this clean energy solution. Geothermal – as a viable energy solution – is attracting significant interest across the globe. This equity raise will enable us to, not only, scale to meet this worldwide demand, but also to demonstrate that Geothermal is a real and serious player in the baseload clean energy mix.’ Formed in June 2020, CeraPhi Energy is the first company in the UK to offer a complete end to end geothermal energy solution around its closed loop technology, from securing finance to full development and build or equity return and – in May – announced it had been awarded a  ‘first of its kind’ funded study by the UK Net Zero Technology Centre that will evaluate whether oil and gas wells in the North Sea can be repurposed for geothermal energy. The business has enlisted Petrofac as its industry partner in the study which will focus on decarbonisation of the EnQuest Magnus Platform in the UK North Sea. Speaking about the funding round CEO of JUSTLY Paul Karrlsson – Willis, ‘JUSTLY is all about making an IMPACT now and CeraPhi is doing just that. We are excited to have CeraPhi on our funding platform as they bring CleanTech to life in two incredible ways — firstly, it taps into a geothermal energy source which is always active and, secondly, it can retrofit existing failed or depleted wells, making them productive again in an environmentally friendly way.  This also has a social IMPACT by maintaining jobs or bringing them back to geographical areas that need them. JUSTLY is humbled and excited to be supporting CeraPhi with their current $15m capital raise.’ Investors interested in the CeraPhi Energy business are invited to visit the JUSTLY site for more information https://investjustly.com/all-investments/ Geothermal is a form of renewable energy taken from heat derived from the earth’s subsurface and which is contained within rocks and fluids.  It is one of the cleanest forms of energy and can be used both as a direct power source as well as for heating and cooling utilities. Development Begins on Revolutionary Closed Loop Geothermal Technology

NEWS Development Begins on Revolutionary Closed Loop Geothermal Technology 11 July 2022 The UK’s first end to end Geothermal business is making significant advances with its state-of-the-art proprietary closed loop geothermal technology – designed to generate clean thermal energy from deep below the earth surface – as it appoints a leading British manufacturer for the build. CeraPhi Energy, based in Great Yarmouth, has announced Calder, one of the country’s leading pumping equipment specialists, has been awarded the contract to manufacture its very first CeraPhiTru™ unit. The unit is a proprietary technology designed to prove the commercial validity of energy from deep wells and how that energy is used. Initial designs for the CeraPhiTru™ unit was successfully completed by Petrofac earlier this year based on specifications provided by the CeraPhi Energy team. Calder has now been selected for the manufacturing of the CeraPhiTru™ unit, which will be carried out at the company’s extensive workshop facilities in Worcester.  Speaking about the development of the CeraPhiTru unit with Calder, Karl Farrow, Founder and CEO at CeraPhi Energy said: “We are delighted to have awarded Calder with the contract to manufacture our first unit which is a significant milestone in our go to market phase and will enable us to prove up the thermal energy extraction on our projects and help companies to achieve their net zero targets. “Calder has a long track record of building quality equipment with a highly experienced team and this, coupled with their unrivalled technical knowhow, made the company a natural fit to enable us to drive our innovative solution to the next level.” The CeraPhiTru™ unit forms part of the closed loop geothermal system in the early stage to model and prove up the energy resource to support the commercial validity and the design of the final topside to be installed. The CeraPhiTru™ unit works in conjunction with the company’s proprietary CeraPhiWell™ solution, a down hole heat exchanger which is designed to circulate proprietary working fluids moving the heat to the surface where it is then processed into direct heat or power use before it is returned into the well. Speaking about the contract award, Lee Watkins, Managing Director at Calder said: “Calder has a long history of delivering quality bespoke pumping packages for a variety of applications, and our experience lends itself well to CeraPhi Energy’s closed loop solution. “It is great to be working with the CeraPhi Energy team on this innovative solution, within the growing geothermal sector. We look forward to continuing to support them in their journey which is to help organisations to meet their net zero targets through the implementation of geothermal solutions.” Geothermal is a form of renewable energy taken from heat derived from the earth’s subsurface and CeraPhi Energy’s Closed Loop Solution makes Geothermal available everywhere and anywhere. It is one of the cleanest forms of energy and can be used both as a direct power source as well as for heating and cooling utilities.
